Mel Melaku Negussie, Esq.
Mel Melaku Negussie, Esq. joined Ethio-American Doctors Group, Inc. in January 2012 and currently holds the title of Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. He is responsible for all business and legal matters related to the mission of the company. In addition, Mr. Negussie is the CEO of NT Group LLC, an SBA Certified 8(a) Program Participant firm. NT Group LLC has two divisions; (1) NT Global Tech—focuses on providing IT solutions and staffing for the federal and local government, and (2) NT Recruiting—an executive search and placement division.
Mr. Negussie also serves as a Board Member of Centennial Power International Corp., a holding company of a fully integrated solar energy businesses with an on-the-ground dedicated team in Sub-Saharan Africa. Previously, he served as VP/General Counsel of Africa.com, Inc. Mr. Negussie was also a founding and board member of Nimbus, Inc., a provider of interconnection service via an Ethernet central switching fabric. Prior to joining the business world, Mr. Negussie practiced at private law firms for 8 years, including at Dewey Ballantine and Graham & James. Before law school, he worked as a Chemical Engineer for Dow Chemical Company.
Mr. Negussie obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law Center, Los Angeles, in 1992, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, with a Minor in Material Science and Engineering, from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, California in 1987. In 2015, Mr. Negussie completed a Certificate Program in Project Management from Georgetown University. He has received Certified Certificates in “Entrepreneurship and Healthcare in Emerging Economies” and “Innovating in Health Care” from HarvardX, offered by Harvard Business School. Mr. Negussie has also completed GE Crotonville’s Leadership, Innovation and Strategy in Healthcare. Mr. Negussie is a member of Cal Poly Engineering’s Dean Leadership Board and was inducted into Cal Poly College of Engineering’s Hall of Fame for his dedication to engineering and the academic community.
Mr. Negussie is a member of several societies and associations, including the District of Columbia Bar, DC Chamber of Commerce and CrowdFunding Professional Association.
